I love dirty rap music. I've heard bits and pieces of 2 Live Crew's music over the years, but just recently, I started looking up some of their more popular songs on Youtube. The one above, "Get It Girl," just happens to be one of my favorites. Their creative use of samples and minimalist use of background dancers are the main reasons I like this video so much. And I really just like Fresh Kid Ice's voice. When I think about how much trouble 2 Live Crew got into back in the day, I wonder how they felt when they were writing these dirty raps. I mean, it's obvious that they didn't give a FUCK, but did they even think of censoring themselves? Ever? Probably not. They must've felt like kings when they performed in front of the children of the people who were trying to get their CDs banned. It had to have felt good being that bad.
